About Me

I am a native of Queens, born to immigrant parents from Mexico, and an English language learner who attended New York City public school throughout my educational upbringing. During my master's program in Early Childhood Education at City College, I student taught at the District 2 pre-k centers and felt an instant connection to how the program engaged learners and their families. I knew right away that I wanted to form part of a school community with a similar mission in the city of New York, the city that saw me struggle, regroup, and grow.

That opportunity arrived in September 2019, when I started my first year teaching at the District 2 Pre-K Centers. In those years, I worked alongside a large family of dedicated, strong educators and supportive administration who were integral to my growth as I transitioned from a pre-k teacher to a 3K teacher in the fall of 2021, when we opened our 3K classrooms at Third Avenue.

I strive to create a positive learning environment for my students where they can let their natural curiosity flourish. For many of them, this is their first experience in a structured learning environment with other little learners their age. Our team works together to promote empathy and communication as we help the children develop essential social skills to form positive relationships with their peers, educators, and community members.
