Teaching Resources for Planning
The Creative Curriculum is the curriculum we follow at the PreK Center. It is designed for the whole child and addresses the following domains: social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, and English language acquisition. The units we cover during the school year are Beginning of the Year, Signs, Lights, Wheels, Water, Gardening, and Getting Ready for PreK.
ELOF, the Early Learning Outcomes Framing, is grounded on research about young children from birth to five that describes the skills, behaviors, and knowledge a program must foster. The domains it outlines are Approaches to learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Cognition, Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development.
TSG Data Fall 2023
After reviewing the literacy data, objective 15 a. noticing and discriminating rhyme, I noticed that the class needed more exposure to rhyme to bring the class level up to 3 and or higher. Level 3 highight the students that are performing at age level on the TSG scale. This meant planning for actvities with singing, reading more books with rhymes during storytime and extending it to the our unit of study on wheels. I built on their knowedge of ramps to create a rhyming activity that enagaged their senses through listening, talking and touch.
